Protection against wear and corrosion

Epoxy resin system Weicon B4AS
Weicon has developed a wear protection for heavily stressed surfaces in industry – the epoxy resin system Weicon B4AS.
Weicon B4AS
The system has a high abrasion resistance and protects surfaces in industrial areas where they are exposed to heavy loads and stresses.
B4AS is a liquid, antistatic 2-component epoxy resin system with a high content of fine mineral fillers. It is used to protect surfaces against wear and corrosion. By combining high-strength particles with a viscoplastic polymer matrix, the system offers high wear protection. It has a good chemical resistance and adheres very well to a wide variety of surfaces – even under extreme loads, such as vibration and elongation. The wear protection system is non-dripping, free of tar and solvents, and cures with virtually no shrinkage.
Wear protection for heavily stressed parts
B4AS is suitable for coating heavily stressed parts, such as rollers, pumps, chutes, conveyors, lifting screws, separators, hoppers, propellers, fans, and heat exchangers.
The epoxy resin system can be used wherever chemicals or other aggressive media are conveyed through pipes.
It is suitable for applications in the chemical industry, in refineries, in sewage treatment plants and in many other areas.
Plastic Metal
The term Plastic Metal describes epoxy resin systems, which consist of two components, one resin and one hardener. Depending on the type, the resin component is mixed with steel, aluminium powder or mineral
fillers, all of which improve the technical characteristics, such as the compressive strength and thermal conductivity.
The epoxy resin system is suitable for a broad range of applications in different industrial areas.
Plastic Metal can be used, for example, in industrial series production for adhesive bonding, coatings and durable repairs on different materials.
After mixing the two components, the Plastic Metal cures at room temperature to a solid, metal-like material, which can then be machined. It can be drilled, milled, sanded or filed, if required.
